Just a family moment

My dad, momentary breaking from attending to his spiral ham, standing for lighting tests for our family Christmas card. What a fiasco it ended up being. But really, this picture is such quintessential "Dad in his apron" that I had to post it.

Like living in someone else's movie

Last night was making homemade raviolis in my new apron, drinking wine and listening to my Nat King Cole Pandora station. Then, once my roommate and I had polished off a bottle and a half of wine we giggled like fools as we relived the oddities of childhood through the Pippi Longstockings movie we got from Netflix.

Whole Wheat Vegetarian Lasagna

When visiting my coworker in Flag, she made a delightful vegetarian lasagna, full of spinach and mushrooms. And very saucy. With whole wheat. Just the way I like it. She was kind enough to share the recipe so I could attempt my very first lasagna.

It wasn't very pretty, but it was successful and I got to fill up my freezer with meal sized portions to last me for months!

Hotels with thin walls

Last Wednesday, on Halloween, Derek and Jenn tied the knot on the Queen Mary. Chica and I drove out to California. It was a freaking blast.

The angry gingerbread best man and the groom at our table. I took part in merriment and feasting.... maybe a bit too much. I think the Ben & Jerry's finally did me in.

On deck after dinner and dancing. They had an 80s cover band. So sweet.

As for staying the night on the Queen Mary, I can proudly say I only ran through the halls like a total dork shouting "Jack? Jack?!" once.

Halloween Cookie Party

On Monday, we made Halloween cookies. It was the usual mess that resulted mostly in fabulously ugly cookies. <3

Natalie made yummy tortoloni and I baked a pumpkin pie.
