After the Coombs Fair, we continued along across Vancouver Island to Tofino.

We stayed in a rather crummy "resort," but the beach it sat up on made up for it. It was gray and eerie and I loved it. Probably the first beach I've seen where everyone wore shoes. I took off my flipflops and went barefoot anyway.

This was the "art" in our room complete with cobwebs. Crooked, even.

Following the packaging advice, we made string cheese monsters.

Poked around town and discovered a really great tea shop. Yum! We also had some fantastic meals. I'd recommend the Shelter and then after dinner drinks upstairs overlooking the water at the Schooner.

Took a "hike" on a trail through the forest.

We saw a bear! The first and only bear I've seen in the wild thus far. He was as startled as we were, and after a few moments of both parties staring dumfoundedly at each other, he turned around and disappeared into the thicket.

Saw some rather large trees on the way, too.

And popped out onto another beach full of fun rocks to explore.

So...i've been blog-stalking you for almost a year now (I live in Tucson too) - and I've been dying to know why kind of a camera you use. Your latest Canada pictures are gorgeous...thanks for sharing!
Maggie :)
Beautiful shots, dear! Some of them remind me a lot of Twilight. ^_^*
